Carson Daly Breaks Silence On Leaving The Voice After 30 Seasons
For 30 seasons, The Voice has featured regular, everyday singers looking for their big break. In a shocking shakeup, a celebrity edition is coming to TV in 2027. However, Carson Daly won’t be hosting it. NBC announced Keke Palmer as the host of The Voice: Celebrity.
Carson Daly’s departure came as a shock to longtime viewers. He broke his silence, finally addressing the reason he was leaving the NBC reality competition. “Today we announced our new upcoming Celebrity version of @nbcthevoice. A spin off format of our long running show,” he wrote on Instagram. “I am not the right host for it.”
He praised Keke Palmer for stepping in as host. “We have a NEW amazing HOST! The triple threat queen @keke who is PERFECT for it! I’m so grateful she carved out the time in her busy career to help us out,” Carson Daly wrote.
While he won’t be hosting on camera, Carson Daly will be a presence behind the scenes. “I have hosted & produced every single second of the show since day 1, 30 seasons. 16 years. I’ll be producing Celeb Voice only & helping it launch from behind the scenes,” he shared on social media.
In fact, viewers will see him on NBC this fall when The Voice returns for Season 30. The OG show premieres on Monday, September 21, 2026, with coaches Adam Levine, Kelly Clarkson, Queen Latifah, and country singer Riley Green.
Insider Reveals True Reason For Replacement
Carson Daly said that it wasn’t “the right fit” to host the celebrity edition of The Voice. An insider spilled more details on why NBC made the shocking change. “NBC wanted fresh energy, a younger face, and someone who could light up social media,” an inside source told Rob Shuter, the journalist behind the Naughty But Nice Substack.
The source claimed that letting Carson Daly stay on was NBC’s way of “softening the blow.” After all, “The host is the face of the show, and that spotlight now belongs to Keke,” the insider said.
