Are you in the mood for a Gothic horror film favored by auteur director Guillermo del Toro? If you are, I’ve good excellent news for you. If you are somehow not in the mood for such an exciting proposition, plug your ears and close your eyes because I’m about to drop some essential knowledge on you!

GdT once shared his adoration for a certain ‘90s vampire film via the social media platform formerly known as Twitter (don’t even think of calling it X).
The Crimson Peak director’s post reads: “Film: Bram Stoker’s Dracula by Francis Coppola. A most beautiful, sensuous horror film. Imbued with Fairy tale atmosphere and images.”
Per Google Movies: Count Dracula, a 15th-century prince, is condemned to live off the blood of the living for eternity. Young lawyer Jonathan Harker is sent to Dracula’s castle to finalize a land deal, but when the Count sees a photo of Harker’s fiancée, Mina, the spitting image of his dead wife, he imprisons him and sets off for London to track her down.
The nuts and bolts:
In case you’re not overly familiar with the picture, I will run down some of the specifics for you right here. Legendary director Francis Ford Coppola sat at the helm of the project. And James V. Hart (Hook) took point writing this adaptation of Bram Stoker’s beloved novel.
The picture’s all-star cast includes Gary Oldman, Winona Ryder, Anthony Hopkins, Keanu Reeves, Richard E. Grant, Cary Elwes, and Billy Campbell. Quite the who’s who of ‘90s Hollywood royalty if you ask me.
