Every once in a while, there’s an episode of reality TV that’s so frustrating to watch that you find yourself screaming at the TV like someone’s dad on Super Bowl Sunday. Unfortunately, the latest episode of House of Villains Season 2 was one of those episodes
Last week, Jessie became the Supervillain of the Week. He forgot that with great power comes great responsibility. He proceeded to make some bold (and ill-informed) decisions, nominating Kandy and New York for banishment.
In House of Villains Season 2, Episode 10, “Why Are All These Villains Crying?”, we see the aftermath of Jessie’s questionable decision-making skills, and the final five players pushed forward for their shot at $200,000.
What happened in House of Villains Season 2, Episode 10?
Season 2 is quickly coming to an end. After a heartbreaking banishment, the top five villains competed in Season 2’s final Battle Royale Challenge. The winner earned a spot in the finale, and the ability to pick one villain to join them. And for the rest of the players? They’ll have to earn their spot by duking it out in a Redemption Challenge.
With $200,000 up for grabs, emotions are running high. To make things worse, Joel also invited all of the banished villains to move back into the lair. Ultimately, they’ll be the ones voting on who takes home the grand prize.
Kandy got crushed
At the end of Episode 9, Kandy and Tiffany verbally demolished Mr. Pectacular in a tag-team smackdown. Then, Joel teased that there would be a “surprise” for the villains. It turned out to be nothing too shocking — just an hour countdown until the next banishment.
Kandy said she didn’t want to beg for her spot in the house. She and Tiffany went to go pack their bags, pissed at Jessie’s surprising decision to nominate them. Meanwhile, Jessie tried to justify his decision with the audience at home.
“Every situation can either make you a good guy, or make you a villain, and unfortunately right now, it’s better to be a villain,” Jessie said in a confessional.
Well, Jessie is about to be a villain in the eyes of the RuPaul’s Drag Race fandom because sure enough, when the villains came back into the Stronghold, they unanimously voted Kandy out of the competition. She became the fifth player eliminated from the game.
Drag Race fans across the world are raising their pitchforks to avenge the fallen diva, but don’t cry too hard for Kandy. This isn’t the last we’ve seen of her. Not only did they bring back all of the villains later on in this episode, but she’ll be back on our screens next month on the Drag Race spinoff, Slaycation.
A buttery Battle Royale
After Kandy’s elimination, the final five ventured outside for the Battle Royale Challenge, which looked like something straight out of the Iowa State Fair. They presented the villains with a life-size statue of Joel, made completely out of butter. The challenge was to keep one hand on the butter. The last player standing wins!
Of course, we’ve seen challenges like this across tons of competition reality shows. Doing it with butter? That’s just absurd, but it’s why we love House of Villains. It’s a show that doesn’t take itself seriously, even when its participants do.
“This is about to last like four to seven hours,” know-it-all-all Wes advised the rest of the villains.
Six minutes later, a bee landed on New York’s hand and she quit the game. Whoops!
As the game went on, Joel decided to make things interesting. He brought back all of the banished villains to distract the remaining players, who were elbow-deep in melted butter.
Eventually, the game came down to Jessie and Wes, and what happened next was some of the most cringey gameplay we’ve seen on reality TV this year.
Wes, Jessie, and the butter
This was a challenge of endurance and by the end, Jessie and Wes were both clearly exhausted. With all of the banished villains of Season 2 looking on, Wes started begging Jessie to let him win the challenge.
“Let me have this one thing, please! Wes pleaded while red in the face. “Please, I promise I’ll take you to the final. Please let me have it!”
In that moment, the rest of the players finally saw in Wes what everyone watching from home has been seeing all season. He’s not there to compete. He’s there to find the path of least resistance to the $200,000.
The begging didn’t work, and Jessie managed to outlast Wes to become the Supervillain of the Week. He earned a spot in next week’s finale, plus the power to choose a player to bring with him. This is when the real mess started to unfold as the cult Wes built from Episode 1 finally cracked.
Previously, Wes and Jessie promised that they would bring each other into the finale. They swore on the lives of their daughters. So, when Jessie started to reconsider that plan, Wes threw a full-blown tantrum. He said he refused to go into a Redemption Challenge against Larsa and Tiffany, which made absolutely no sense.
“Please don’t do this to me,” Wes pleaded with Jessie.
“Why are you nervous or on edge about it? It’s New York and Larsa,” Jessie replied.
Wes claimed that his head would no longer be in the game if Jessie made him fight for his spot in the finale. It’s a wild excuse. Even Safaree had to call it out. You’re on a competition show, why don’t you want to compete?
Jessie’s big decision
At the stronghold, Jessie sat in his Supervillain of the Week chair to announce his decisions. Unsurprisingly, he put Larsa and Tiffany up on the Hit List. That left the final spot, and Jessie started to passionately explain why it was reserved for the one person who had been avoiding the game.
“There’s only one person who said they did not want to compete,” Jessie hollered from his chair.
“Lower your voice, pastor,” Tiffany hilariously interjected. “Because don’t nobody believe you.”
Before Jessie could finish his speech, Wes ran up to the front. He knew what was coming, so he wanted to take control of the moment.
He looked at Jessie and said, “Looks like I want to compete now, bitch!”
Everyone gasped, and then Wes and Jessie started screaming at each other for about two minutes straight. It felt less like reality TV and more like watching two professional wrestlers getting ready to throw down in a ring. Either way, we were entertained, and Safaree quietly scored a spot in the finale. Congrats!
Next week, Tiffany, Larsa, and Wes will compete for the third spot in the finale. Of course, Wes thinks he has it in the bag, but won’t it be funny if he ends up losing his spot in the finale fair and square? Tune in next week, and we’ll see what happens.
