Jennifer Garner will star in a new Peacock series, The Five-Star Weekend.
The Five-Star Weekend is a new show that will star and be executive-produced by Garner. The series is based on Elin Hilderbrand’s novel of the same name.
What is The Five-Star Weekend about?
“Hollis Shaw, a famed food influencer known for her delicious recipes, impeccable taste, and warm demeanor suffers a devastating loss. Unable to move forward, the death starts to expose the cracks in Hollis’s picture-perfect life—her strained marriage, her complicated relationship with her daughter, and her growing pursuit of validation from her followers. In an effort to overcome grief and find herself again, Hollis gets the idea to host a weekend away at her house on Nantucket with three friends from different stages in her life: her childhood, her twenties, thirties, and one surprise fifth-star. Set against a luxurious and coastal backdrop, they will mature in ways they could never imagine as boundaries are pushed and secrets are exposed.”
The show is created by Bekah Brunstetter. Brunstetter wrote the show with Beth Schacter. Schacter and Brunstetter also serve as executive producers alongside Sue Naegle, Ali Krug, and Elin Hilderbrand. No other casting beyond Garner has been announced at this time.
Garner is known for playing Elektra Natchios in 2003’s Daredevil and 2005’s Elektra, while she recently reprised the role in 2024’s Deadpool & Wolverine. Her filmography also includes 2001’s Pearl Harbor, 2004’s 13 Going on 30, 2007’s Juno, 2009’s Ghosts of Girlfriends Past, 2010’s Valentine’s Day, 2012’s The Odd Life of Timothy Green, 2014’s Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day, 2016’s Miracles from Heaven, 2018’s Peppermint, 2021’s Yes Day, 2022’s The Adam Project, and 2023’s Family Switch, among other titles.
