Popular New Netflix Thriller Compared to ‘John Wick’

It seems everyone is looking for some revenge this October. This new South Korean thriller came in swinging last week and is now in the Netflix Top 10 Charts. People cannot get over Ballerina. From what I have seen, I can’t blame them either. Allow us to introduce you to your new plans for this evening.

Netflix Official Synopsis

“An exquisite revenge action thriller about a merciless ex-bodyguard Okju (Jun Jong-seo) who hunts down Choi (Kim Ji-hun), a man responsible for the death of her dear friend Minhee (Park Yu-rim).”

Ballerina was written and directed by Lee Chung-hyun (The Call). The film stars Jun Jong-seo (Burning, The Call, Money Heist: Korea — Joint Economic Area), (Money Heist: Korea — Joint Economic Area, Flower of Evil, Love to Hate You), Park Yu-rim (Drive My Car, Miraculous Brothers).

Twitter is losing its mind over another stellar performance by Jun Jong-seo. If her performance is even half as good as she was in The Call, she deserves those flowers. They are also living for a John Wick-esque film featuring lethal ladies.

See what Twitter is saying:

Ballerina is the action movie you make if you’re exceptionally talented. And incredibly lucky. It’s Nicholas Refn meets John Wick. Only better. Ok-Ju is an elite-tier protag. When she strapped on those SB’s to go to work?

I felt that #Netflix #SK #Ballerina

This action-thriller hit Netflix on October 6, 2023. The internet has yet to recover. I plan to hop on this bandwagon next week myself. I loved The Call, so I cannot wait to see what Lee Chung-hyun and Jun Jong-seo are getting up to this time out. Sign me all the way up!

If you have not seen The Call, I recommend a Netflix double feature ASAP. If you are still unsure about jumping into the violent revenge tale that is Ballerina, watch the trailer below.

Have you already watched Ballerina on Netflix? Then let me know if it’s as cool as it looks at @misssharai.
