Brand New Day’ Fastest To $700 Million At U.S. Box Office

Sony/Marvel Studios’ Spider-Man: Brand New Day crossed $700 million at the domestic box office Wednesday, just like we told you it would. But there’s another record here: It’s now the fastest movie to cross that benchmark, doing it in 13 days.

Prior to this, both Star Wars: The Force Awakens and Avengers: Endgame tied as the fastest movies to hit $700M, both doing so in 16 days.

Brand New Day with $704.5M in North America is running 31% ahead of Spider-Man: No Way Home at the same point in time; the latter ended its domestic run at $804.7M. Currently, Brand New Day is the sixth highest-grossing movie ever at the domestic B.O. There’s only been seven movies, including Brand New Day, to cross $700M including Force Awakens ($936.6M), Avengers: Endgame ($858.3M), Spider-Man: No Way Home ($814.8M), Avatar ($785.2M), Top Gun: Maverick ($722M), and Black Panther ($700.4M).

The international haul for the Destin Daniel Cretton-directed Spidey stands at $1.108 billion, and that’s a record for Sony, besting the $1.106B of previous foreign B.O. champ No Way Home. Brand New Day‘s foreign B.O. is the 10th highest ever for any movie.

Brand New Day has now become Sony Pictures’ highest-grossing release of all time across 26 international markets. Among the top-performing territories are China ($197.6M), United Kingdom ($95.4M), Mexico ($70.8M), France (56.0M), India ($55.7M), Brazil ($52.0M), South Korea ($46.7M), Germany ($42.4M), Australia ($42.1M) and Italy ($34.1M).

This weekend, Brand New Day will lead the U.S./Canada weekend B.O. again with an estimated range of $57M-$72M.
