Donald Trump has posted a new AI-generated video where the President takes shots at various celebrities. The new video was posted on Trump’s social media platform, TruthSocial, and later on other platforms.
What does the AI Donald Trump video show?
Trump posted an AI-generated video in which he portrays himself as a doctor to “cure” celebrities of “TDS,” or “Trump Derangement Syndrome,” on Truth Social and X. The video plays a series of fake testimonies from celebrities who are seen praising Trump’s “treatment plan”. The president has previously used the term to describe those who oppose his views and policies.
The 90-second video features deepfake versions of Rosie O’Donnell, Whoopi Goldberg, John Leguizamo, Edward Norton, Julia Roberts, and Robert De Niro. The fake testimonials show the celebrities expressing relief after explaining how “TDS” was negatively affecting their lives.
“The treatment is simple: Turn off fake news, say your prayers, and if you ever feel anxious, just have a Diet Coke like me, and you are going to see a remarkable difference in your life,” the AI-generated Dr. Trump tells viewers.
This isn’t the first time Trump has used AI-generated content to express his views on social media. Another AI-generated post depicted him as Jesus Christ, an idea that was revisited in the final season of The Boys, which also surprised its creator as well.
The video targets several celebrities who have been vocal in their staunch criticism of Trump. Earlier in June, Whoopi Goldberg criticized the president while discussing the New York Knicks. Jon Stewart also mocked Trump over comments involving pool algae. Earlier this year, Robert De Niro called Trump an “enemy of this country”, while Mark Ruffalo called Trump a “convicted felon”. Both Julia Roberts and Rosie O’Donnell have criticized the Trump administration on multiple occasions.
The post comes at a time when the entertainment industry is pushing for regulation of AI-generated content. On the topic, the No Fakes Act cleared the Senate Judiciary Committee last month, a bill intended to grant individuals the right to authorize the use of their voice and likeness.
