Katya stepped away from upcoming projects and live appearances after experiencing recent medical complications, according to a statement from her team.
The 44-year-old RuPaul’s Drag Race alum, whose real name is Brian McCook, prioritized her health and canceled scheduled appearances while she recovered.

Katya’s team announced the decision on Instagram and said she would take time away from work.
“Katya will be taking time away from upcoming projects and live events so she can prioritize her health following recent medical complications. A full recovery is anticipated,” the statement read.
Her team also said Katya had support from her family, staff and longtime collaborator Trixie Mattel.
“With the support of her family, her team, and Trixie, she appreciates everyone’s patience and understanding during this time,” the statement continued.
The update came one day before Katya and Trixie were scheduled to begin their Very Bald and Very Beautiful Tour in Oakland on September 17.
The pair had planned nearly 20 U.S. live shows through March 2027. They also had a Halloween dance party scheduled in Boston on October 31.
Katya’s team said ticket holders for upcoming events would receive more information about their options.
The Katya health announcement followed another medical issue earlier in the year.
In May, Katya raised concern among fans after sharing a hospital photo. About a week later, she revealed that she had undergone emergency abdominal surgery. She described that experience as “hell on earth.”
Her latest statement did not explain the specific nature of the recent complications or provide a timeline for her return.
Instead, her team focused on recovery and reassured fans that they expected Katya to recover fully.
The break marked a significant pause in Katya’s career, particularly because it affected a long run of live events that had already been scheduled with Trixie.
For now, the RuPaul’s Drag Race favorite remained focused on her health rather than upcoming performances.
