Oasis, Wu-Tang Clan, New Order, Joy Division among inductees

The inductees to the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame 2026 have been announced – check out the full list of this year’s honourees below.

The Rock Hall’s 17 nominees shared in February have been whittled down to eight by a panel of more than 1,200 artists, historians and industry professionals.

For 2026, the main ‘Performer’ category consists of Phil Collins, Billy Idol, Iron Maiden, Joy Division/New Order, Oasis, Sade, Luther Vandross and Wu-Tang Clan.

The ‘Early Influence’ category, meanwhile, features Fela Kuti, Gram Parsons, Queen Laifah, MC Lyte, and Celia Cruz.

Elsewhere, the ‘Musical Excellence’ list is made up of Rick Rubin, Linda Creed, Arif Mardin and Jimmy Miller. Ed Sullivan is set to be inducted posthumously with the ‘Ahmet Ertegun Award’.

Among those who didn’t make the final cut from the 17 nominations are New Edition, Mariah Carey, Ms Lauryn Hill, INXS, P!nk, Jeff Buckley, The Black Crowes and Shakira.

This year sees a total of six British acts being inducted, breaking the previous record of five British acts entering the Rock Hall in a single year. In 2019, Radiohead, The Cure, Def Leppard, Roxy Music and The Zombies were all honoured.

Phil Collins was previously inducted as a member of Genesis in 2010. This year was the first time he was on the ballot as a solo artist. The two other first-time nominees in 2026 were Luther Vandross and Wu-Tang Clan.

It marked the second time being up for the honour for both Sade and Billy Idol, while Iron Maiden have earned the nod three times.

Oasis were nominated for the third consecutive year in 2026, following nods in 2024 and 2025.

Taking to X/Twitter this morning (Tuesday April 14), frontman Liam Gallagher wrote: “I wanna thank all the people who voted for us it’s a real honour ever since I was a little kid and singing in the shower I’d dream about 1 day being in the RnR hall of fame it’s true what they say anything is possible if you have a dream LG x.”

He had previously reacted to their 2024 nomination by writing: “Fuck the Rock n Roll hall of fame its full of BUMBACLARTS”. He also discouraged fans from voting for them, calling it “a load of bollox”.

Gallagher reiterated his sentiments last year, saying the Hall is “for WANKERS”, although he replied to one fan asking what would happen if they got in by saying: “Obv go and say it’s the best thing EVER.”

In 2017, Noel Gallagher was asked by Rolling Stone if Oasis deserved to be inducted. “I certainly think I do,” he responded.

“I know what it is [the Hall Of Fame]. I know what it entails and it won’t be happening, OK?” he said at the time. “They showed me all these exhibits of Oasis stuff. It’s a great place, but I don’t be doing it.”

Joy Division and New Order were nominated as a single act in 2023, 2025, and 2026.

Peter Hook spoke to NME last year about last not making the cut, suggesting that the current rift between himself and his former bandmates is the reason for their snub. “You’re in a weird situation here, because the camps don’t have any communication and actively don’t like each other,” he said. “When it comes to working on these things, you have to let your fans know that they can vote you in. That’s how it’s done – it’s not given to you. You have to be nominated and voted for.

“If you check our campaign last time and compare it to the campaign this time, you can see there’s been – shall we say – a lack of enthusiasm on one side for the whole thing. Obviously they’re making enough money pretending to be New Order so they don’t have to worry about it. So that’s cool, isn’t it?”

In 2023, Hook explained that the joint Rock Hall nomination could be an “olive branch” for his estranged bandmates.

The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame’s 2026 induction ceremony will take place at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles on Saturday November 14. A recording will then air in December on ABC and Disney+.

Last year’s new inductees were The White Stripes, Cyndi Lauper, OutKast, Soundgarden, Bad Company, Chubby Checker and Joe Cocker, while Salt-N-Pepa and Warren Zevon were inducted under the ‘Musical Influence’ category.
