Pete Davidson Says Kim Kardashian Relationship Was ‘Too Much’

Pete Davidson Says Kim Kardashian Relationship Was ‘Too Much’

Pete Davidson and Kim Kardashian had a short but impactful relationship. Now that they have both long since moved on, Pete is reflecting on his time with the Kardashians. Keep reading to find out what he took away from their relationship.

Pete Davidson Talks About Kim Kardashian

This whole story starts back in 2021 when Kim Kardashian was the host on Saturday Night Live. At that time, Pete Davidson was at his peak with the show. So, naturally, the pair did skits together. One thing led to another, and they became an official couple. However, while the relationship was at the center of the public eye, it didn’t last too long. They actually broke up in 2022, saying that long-distance made their relationship too hard.

Now, four years after its demise, Pete is finally opening up about his relationship with Kim US Weekly reports.

“I’m one of the survivors — the few and the proud. We’re like the Marines,” Pete Davidson said jokingly about his relationship with The Kardashians star. “Look, man, that’s a really tough atmosphere if you’re not game. One of the things I love about Kim and that whole family is they’re like, ‘This is what we do.’ I found that very attractive and mature.”

Looking back, it seems that while she was very transparent about her lifestyle, it was still something that was very hard for Pete to keep up with. He’s been very open in the past about his issues with mental health and drug abuse. So, being followed everywhere and having security with him wasn’t really the life he was looking for.

“I was never subjected to anything I didn’t want to be a part of. She was super respectful of all of it, but the craze of that lifestyle — being followed everywhere, having security and looking over your shoulder — for a guy with mental stuff and at the time drug problems was a little too much for me,” he admits.

However, through it all, they come out the other side still friends.

“But we’re cool, and I have a lot of love for her, and I knew what I was getting into.”

Kanye West Didn’t Help

Of course, during their whole relationship, Kanye West continued to insert himself. He even wrote a song which involved Pete. Now, Pete has opened up about how hard this was for him to deal with at the time, especially given his own mental health issues.

“What tripped me out is I was super open about mental stuff — everyone knows this about me — and it’s like he was [saying], ‘Kill yourself.’ And he did push me,” Pete has previously said about Kanye West.

In the end, the couple simply wasn’t meant to be. However, Pete seems to be doing well for himself, and he recently welcomed a baby girl and is even starring in a movie.
