A beloved reality star is sharing some devastating news. Jenny Slatten first appeared on television in 2019 on 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way. She and her now-husband, Sumit Singh, quickly became favorites of the franchise.
This week, Jenny announced that she’d been diagnosed with ALS.
This news comes as the couple are set to appear on another reality show, 90 Day Fiancé: The Last Resort. The show premieres June 1. Jenny is going public with this news for the first time, though she has known about it for months. She says that she got the diagnosis in December.
90 Day Fiancé’s Jenny Slatten revealed the news

Jenny is doing her best to put on a brave face despite her world being turned upside down. Speaking exclusively to People, she says that she and Sumit are “doing what we can.” Her condition, known as Lou Gehrig’s disease, eventually leads to muscle weakness, as well as loss of mobility and speech.
According to Jenny, the first signs of ALS occurred in December 2024. That’s when she said she choked” badly” while drinking water. Some migraines and difficulty swallowing pills would follow.
While she had symptoms as far back as then, it was unclear that she had until a few months ago. Jenny admits that she and Sumit felt early on that it was an infection she was dealing with. Eventually, though, Jenny says she noticed her speech slowing, though she sometimes refused to speak entirely. “That’s when we knew something was wrong,” said Jenny.
Her speech was considerably slower while in New York City last December. She was there attending a 90 Day Fiancé holiday party. Her voice and speech patterns raised plenty of concerns among fans. Sumit decided to look further into what could be her problem.
After consulting several neurologists, she got the diagnosis. Jenny’s dad died of ALS more than a decade ago.
