Chris Brown Fights Court Appearance as M Judgment Looms

Chris Brown reportedly asked a court to excuse him from an examination. The singer claimed his nationwide tour kept him too busy. His former housekeeper, Maria Avila, wants to review his finances. The examination related to a $13 million judgment against Brown.

Brown says his tour with Usher prevents him from attending an examination of his finances.

According to court documents obtained by TMZ, Brown opposed appearing in court. Avila reportedly wants to examine his finances and bank statements. She is attempting to determine how Brown could pay the judgment.

Brown reportedly argued that his current touring schedule created a conflict. He claimed he could not simply take time away. The singer also said discussions were underway about extending the tour. Brown is currently touring alongside Usher.

The court examination was reportedly scheduled at the Van Nuys courthouse. Brown argued that he could not be forced to attend there. He also claimed that he lives in Las Vegas. The singer said his home was more than 150 miles away.

Avila is reportedly seeking to collect the $13 million judgment. The award stemmed from allegations involving a dog attack. The incident allegedly occurred at Brown’s Los Angeles home.

Brown has denied all allegations of wrongdoing in the case. He also reportedly argued there was no evidence of wrongdoing. According to the filing, Brown denied concealing assets. He also denied fraudulently transferring or moving to avoid the debt.

The legal dispute had previously reached Brown’s tour earnings. A judge reportedly approved Avila’s request to access part of his profits. The arrangement would continue until the judgment was paid.

Brown’s latest filing now reportedly focused on the financial examination itself. His touring commitments formed a central part of his argument. However, Avila continued pursuing information about his finances.

For now, the $13 million judgment remains a major issue. Brown’s busy tour schedule has reportedly complicated the next legal step. The court will ultimately decide whether his work commitments justify delaying the examination.
