Prince Harry is now a non-working private citizen, but almost every move he makes and everything he says still makes headlines because he is, after all, a member of the royal family. Recently, the non-working royal made a painful admission about his royal past.
Prince Harry recalls experiencing “absolute panic” during royal engagements
Recently, the Duke of Sussex appeared in an episode released on October 8, during which the 42-year-old opened up about his experiences. During the conversation, Prince Harry recalled experiencing “absolute panic” during royal engagements.
As per the People coverage, Harry said, “There was a time where public engagements just created absolute panic right from beginning to end.” “The panic was having to put my suit, jacket, and tie on and suddenly feel suffocated. The panic was going from A to B, getting out of the car in front of all the cameras and the clicks.”
Later, Prince admitted that he “started to realize that I had become seriously depleted when just putting a simple dress shirt on—the tightening of the collar—literally felt like I was suffocating, and I would be experiencing panic attacks just in the car on the way to work. And that’s when I realized, okay, there’s something bigger, there’s something else that you need to look into here.”
During the conversation, Prince Harry also revealed that his biggest source of anxiety was the fear of sweating and the fear that people would see him looking disheveled without being able to explain it to them in one short sentence.
On March 31, 2020, King Charles III’s younger son stepped down from royal duties with his wife, Meghan Markle. Since then, under the royal family’s rules, they can no longer participate in any official royal events, tours, or programs on behalf of King Charles or the British government. Buckingham Palace also does not coordinate any of their visits, and their engagements do not count as official royal tours.
