Horror fans will soon be witnessing the film adaptation of a popular psychological horror game. The game, which involves a satanic serial killer, will be made into a movie by Story Kitchen.
A report from Variety revealed that Madison is being developed into a feature film. Story Kitchen has partnered with the game’s developer Bloodious Games to develop the film adaptation. Apart from the initial announcement, nothing else about the project has been confirmed.
No cast members have been announced, and a production start date has not been revealed. It has neither a director nor a screenwriter. According to the report, Story Kitchen is developing the adaptation for a theatrical release, but a distribution partner has not yet been announced.
What is the Madison horror game about?
Madison is one of the most popular games among horror fans. In the game, players take on the role of Luca Maxwell. Luca receives an instant camera for his 16th birthday. Although the camera looks ordinary, it is connected to a demonic entity that forces Luca to continue a gruesome ritual.
The ritual was started decades earlier by Madison, a serial killer whose demonic presence torments Luca. During the game, players will have to use the camera and solve several puzzles. These discoveries help Luca uncover the truth behind the ritual and the supernatural events surrounding him.
Commenting on the adaptation, Story Kitchen co-founders Dmitri M. Johnson and Mike Goldberg said, “Madison earned its reputation one heartbeat at a time. Players don’t just remember the story; they remember what it did to them.” They further added, “Our job is to carry that physical experience into a theater without losing what makes it Bloodious’s world.”
The project does not have a set release date yet.
